Eco-friendly is a buzzword that has been paid attention by many economic sectors especially in manufacturing. Surface finishing is among the industry that a clean process is increasingly used to ensure the safety and value-added of finished products. To answer this trend, PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) Coatings is a new coatings advancement with environmentally friendly process that reduces potential of releasing of a toxic material to the environment. The processes refer to a variety of thin film deposition techniques such as evaporation, sputtering, and cathodic arc, etc. It can provide extremely pure and high-performance coatings due to the high energy deposition in high-vacuum environment.
National Science Technology and Innovation Policy Office (STI) has initiated Thailand PVD Cluster with the organization by Asst.Prof.Dr. Rachsak Sakdanuphab from King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL) with the realization on the importance of PVD Coating Technology in Thailand that has been applied to automotive parts, gems and jewelry industries which the processes play an important role in increasing products’ life-time and performance while promoting eco-friendly operation. This year, Thailand PVD Cluster will join Surface & Coatings 2019 as exhibitors to accelerate development of PVD Coating Technology and enhance academic-industry network in the region. They will be providing entrepreneurs with PVD coatings solutions to develop their products with a new value added and equip them with new knowledge horizon of surface finishing processes.
