เมทัลเล็กซ์จัดงานแถลงข่าวเปิดตัวเยอรมนีในฐานะประเทศพันธมิตรอย่างเป็นทางการ โดยนอกจากการแนะนำบริษัทด้านเครื่องจักรกลและโลหะการชั้นนำกว่า 48 บริษัทซึ่งมาจัดแสดง เครื่องจักรและโซลูชั่นที่ “ผลิตในเยอรมนี” จาก มร. ปีเตอร์ วีเบอร์ กรรมการผู้จัดการบริษัท Gebr. Heller Maschinenfabrik GmbH และประธานกลุ่มผู้แสดงสินค้า ยังมีการแนะนำเทคโนโลยี umati เพื่อการเชื่อมต่อโลกแห่งแมชชีนทลูส์เป็นครั้งแรกในเอเชีย โดย ดร. อเลก็ซานเดอร ์บรูสซ์ ผู้บริหารฝ่ายวิจัยและเทคโนโลยีจากสมาคมผู้ผลิตเครื่องจักรกลแห่งเยอรมนี (VDW) และปิดท้ายโดย ดร. วิลฟรีท เชเฟอร์ ผู้อำนวยการบริหารสมาคมฯ ซึ่งมอบปาฐกถา “การพัฒนาความ สัมพันธ์ทางธุรกิจแมชชีนทูลส์ ระหว่างไทย-เยอรมนี และสถานภาพทางเศรษฐกิจ และภาพรวม ของอุตสาหกรรมแมชชีนทูลส์ในเยอรมนีต่อประเทศต่างๆทั่วโลก” ทั้งนี้ในช่วงบ่ายได้มีพิธีเปิดพาวิเลียนเยอรมนีอย่างเป็นทางการที่หน้าฮอลล์ 99 ของไบเทค ซึ่งประธานในการเปิดงานคือ มร. โทมัส บาไรส์ สมาชิกรัฐสภารัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงเศรษฐกิจและพลังงานแห่งสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐเยอรมนี ร่วมด้วย มร. เกออร์ก ชมิดท์ เอกอัครราชทูตสหพันธ์สาธารณรัฐเยอรมนีประจำประเทศไทย โดยมีสื่อมวลชนและผู้เข้าร่วมงานให้ความสนใจเป็นจำนวนมาก
METALEX organized a press meeting to announce Germany as the official Partner Country officially yesterday. Besides the introduction of the 48 leading German companies from the metalworking and machine tool industries who wil exhibit their best “Made in Germany” machines and solutions by Managing Director of Gebr. Heller Maschinenfabrik GmbH and Exhibitor President of the industry exhibition Mr. Peter Weber, there was also an introduction to Asia’s premiere of umati-the universal machine tool interface by the German Machine Tool Builders’ Association’s (VDW) Director of Research and Technology Dr. Alexander Broos. The press meeting was concluded with a speech on the “Development of Thai-German Machine Tool Business and Economic Situation and Outlook for the German and International Machine Tool Industry” by VDW’s Executive Director Dr. Wilfried Schäfer. In the afternoon, there was an official opening ceremony of the Germany Pavilion in front of Hall 99 of BITEC with Mr. Thomas Bareiß, Member of the German Bundestag, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy as the Chairman of the ceremony. He was joined by H.E. Mr. Georg Schmidt, Ambassador of Federal Republic of Germany to Thailand. The events received warm interest from the press and the show’s participants.
