Electric Vehicles soon to gain prominence in automotive industry

Mr. Somchai Harnhirun, Director General of Department of Industrial Promotion and Spokesperson for Ministry of Industry has disclosed the detail of the discussion with Japan’s FOMM Corporation, a Japanese company involved in development of electric vehicles, and concluded that in the near future FOMM Corporation who produces compact electric vehicles (EVs) and car battery has set to establish and assembly plant in Thailand. The company targets to manufacture 40,000 units of EVs within 5 years to export to the ASEAN market and EU. It is estimated that each EV will be priced at 300,000 baht.
