Thai furniture industry expects exports to grow 3-5
% this year based on the price competitiveness of local manufacturers and the continued investment in growth by TFA members.  While the industry's main export markets like Japan, Europe and the US orders have been maintained and new markets such as the Middle East, India and China are seeing healthy growth due to many infrastructure projects.  (Source: Bangkok Post, January 23, 2009)

Mr. Arak Suksawad, Managing Director of East Coast Group and Vice President of the Thai Furniture Industries Association (TFA), said “The industry will grow with supports from instant technological improvement as one dynamic to establish strong confidences of product quality to worldwide consumers.  I would advice industrialists to apply new technologies to the manufacturing process which I believe it would be a good strategy to compete in an international market."
